Investor Litigation and Arbitration
Harris, St. Laurent & Chaudhry represents investors – hedge funds, individuals, foundations, endowments and other institutions which have purchased securities – against banks, brokerage firms and other financial institutions in securities litigation and arbitration. Our attorneys have experience, and a record of success, in bringing actions on behalf of a single investor, on behalf of groups of investors, and in prosecuting class actions.
Current and recent investor representations by our attorneys include:
- A $61 million award to our client, a hedge fund, in a FINRA arbitration against a major international bank alleging the improper settlement by the bank of a complex derivative
- A pending FINRA arbitration seeking $20 million in damages against a premier brokerage firm relating to the sale, to our client, of preferred securities which collapsed in value
- A pending AAA arbitration against a hedge fund, on behalf of a major investor in the fund, relating to management of the fund and the payment of distributions
